“Some victims cope with trauma by completely avoiding topics related to what they went through…. Others, cope by putting the topic in the open. Artwork, poetry, music- the possibilities are endless. Before you judge the topic of the art, look at the topic. Before you hate the artist for the art, examine the art. Perhaps the horrid topic, reflects a trauma they’ve yet to find the means of speaking about openly… Learn to see the stories, hidden inside the works.”
This is, just something I've felt the need to get off my chest. People who decide they automatically hate a person based on the topic of their artwork, stories, or anything. Its a blind hate.
You don't know the person. You don't know if they've been through the terrible things your seeing in their work. You don't know if their drawing or writing these things because their suffering from something they've been through- and I'm not talking about me I do my best to be open with shit because I see nothing to gain from hiding it. I'm talking about friends I have- and have had- who get picked on for their work.
Don't blindly hate based off the topic. Learn to guess WHY they put the topic in the piece in the first place.
Maybe that person writing stories about dead babies lost a younger sibling...
Maybe that person drawing demons devouring women has terrible nightmares about such things...
Maybe someone writing about people being beaten has been a victim of such...
We do not KNOW why these people draw or write what they do. And when you do know- while so many do not- it tears at your heart wanting to defend these people without giving away the darkest secretes of their past. Sometimes I wish people didn't trust me because I wouldn't be told these things- but, knowing what I know only gives me a better reason to defend someone.
I'm not going to name anyone. If you think its someone, keep it to yourself because I will not confirm or deny. What I know, is NOT mine to tell. I'll take these secretes to the grave.
Just... Think before you hate people. Think before you bully.

Might as well make an update
Super depressed. Told Mom I attempted suicide a long time ago. She didn't react like I thought she would. Can't tell if she's mad at me or herself. I think she was crying all day. Dunno. I'm kinda just empty about the whole situation right now.
Doing Inktober has helped me cope a bit. I've been drawing a lot more since I've gotten my tablet. I'm usually a lot more active on my Tumblr, but I do still plan to post art on here. So...yeah...anyway, I saw this Skyrim meme thingy and I'm gonna do it:
1.) Tell us a little bit about your Dragonborn. Who they are, what race they are, you know, the basic stuff.
Dah'jra is a Khajiit with a bad case of
Happy Spooky Time
Let's get spooped
I'm pretty quiet on here
I know I never really update my d.A with new journals, but that's just because I honestly don't see the point anymore? I guess it's because I'm more active on Tumblr now *Shrug*
I hope everyone has a happy new year
2017 might not have been the best year for you. I know it hasn't been for me. The year my father died, the year I suffered and dreaded every minute. The year I cried the most, the year I wanted everything to just...end.
So this is the official 2018 blessing journal. May whoever reads this be blessed with good luck and fortune in 2018. c:
